This wonderful recipe is as fabulously rich as any, but this version is ideal for shipping!

Start with your heaviest pan. A 12 inch cast iron skillet is my favorite type.


1 cup salted butter,

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

2 Tablespoons water

Heat on medium high on stove top (see video on YouTube, Beth’s Happy Home here

Stir gently with metal spatula

When butter is melted, add 1 cup sliced almonds

Cook until golden brown, stirring constantly. When golden brown, remove from heat and add

2 teaspoons vanilla stir well

Spread on foil

Sprinkle with 2 cups (12 oz plus or minus) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Garnish with chopped, toasted nuts. (see video for instruction)

Let set until chocolate is firm. Break in pieces and ship or package as fast as you can. The temptation to devour the whole batch is INTENSE!
